Putting Hypetex Through its Paces

Hypetex is being put through its paces by leading test engineers from Formula 1. The Hypetex material is undergoing similar strength and environmental tests to those used for parts in the F1 and automotive industries.

Testing includes an examination of mechanical performance and environmental stability. These tests will determine fundamental parameters such as the ultimate tensile strength, strain and elasticity of Hypetex.

Dynamic and penetrations tests will be based on methods used to test F1 helmets. The tests are taking place at the Newton Laboratory in Milan, Italy, an independent testing centre that specialises in testing helmets and visors for racing drivers, skiers and motorcyclists.
