Ford became the first automotive manufacturer to offer Hypetex coloured carbon fibre on its wheels when it unveiled the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

The blue carbon fibre detailing matches the accents on the car’s exterior and interior and are 37% lighter than their aluminium counterpart. The five-spoke, 19-inch rims weight just 20.1lbs each and had to pass 200 of Ford’s most extensive and stringent structural and environmental tests.

Hypetex’s paint-replacement technology allows the carbon fibre weave to remain visible, matching Carbon Revolution’s Diamond Weave Technology. The Chapel 2×2 260gsm 3K Twill material was developed in collaboration with Sigmatex UK.
